In March, Gloucestershire Housing Association and Guinness Housing Trust celebrated the successful delivery of 42 affordable new homes at St James Walk, Cheltenham. Thirty one of the homes are rented accommodation and will be managed by Kennet Housing Trust (a part of the Guinness Housing Partnership) and eleven homes were sold on a New Build HomeBuy basis by Gloucestershire Housing Association.
The occasion was marked with an ‘open house’ event as the tenants opened up their homes to more than sixty visitors, who included a visit from the Cheltenham Borough Council Planning Committee, officers of the local authority, parish councillors, officers of the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Housing Partnership and officers from the New Futures HomeBuy Agency.
The
residents were keen to open their doors to their new homes, the picture

New Futures HomeBuy Agent supported the St James ‘Open House’ day. As all the applicants for the New Build HomeBuy properties applied through the HomeBuy Agency. The properties were reserved within the first few weeks of marketing, by applicant nominated by the local authority. Jane Dale - HomeBuy Officer, said ‘we have been very happy to work with the Cheltenham and Tewkesbury Partnership on this scheme and it is always a pleasure to see the finished homes, with people happily living there’.
